The Artist: Ron Waller
As a lifelong nature lover, Ron Waller is taking outdoor items, seemingly cast away by nature, and bringing them back to life as beautiful art pieces. The raw material of these pieces was likely overlooked by many people passing by on hikes or walks. But there is beauty to be found in all of nature. Ron re-injects these pieces with love, adding in other symbols of peace and serenity to make you slow down and take notice.
Ron’s artistic journey began late in life. The bulk of his years were spent in the engineering and logic world of Silicon Valley. Always liking to tinker with fixing things and using hand tools, these began to be utilized to rework some of the interesting items he would encounter in his outdoor ventures. Eventually he developed a method to clean, sanitize, and finish the wood to show its innate beauty.
Art pieces can be done in various sizes for individual homes or as conference room or lobby artwork for businesses. Customized or themed pieces can also be commissioned.
Reincarnature’s Mission
Bring natures beauty off the forest floor into your home or office. Raw materials found outside on the ground, shaped by nature, and thoughtfully reinvented and reinterpreted by hand into playful, interactive, and meditative artwork.
The Process
-
Ron is constantly scouting for unique pieces of wood on any hike, bike ride or drive. Neighbors and friends will also point out raw material caches or even bring home. If you see some cool wood out there, please let me know.
-
The wood is initially cleaned with a pressure washer. Next, the wood is wire brushed and fine sanded to give a smooth, clean surface.
-
The wood is baked for several hours to ensure that any bugs or eggs inside the wood are killed.
-
It is then decided how the piece will be mounted and displayed. An initial placement plan for Zen rocks, crystals, air plants or any other accessory is completed.
-
The display stand is then fabricated and finished.
-
The wood is finished with a light lacquer. This brings out the color and detail of the wood.
-
The piece and the stand are now brought together. The wood is drilled and the piece is glued in place. Any accessories are now attached to the piece.
-
After 3-6 weeks, the final product is now ready for you to display and enjoy.
